COMPANY HISTORY
Providing premium air charter services since 1980.
McMahon is a purpose-built Air Charter Service, TASKED WITH Handling the Most Time-Sensitive Shipments in the U.S.
McMahon Airborne Logistics was originally founded as McMahon Helicopter Services, Inc. by Brian P. McMahon in 1980. Brian McMahon started with one leased, Bell 206B helicopter and began flying for whomever would ring the phone.
McMahon quickly established a niche in delivering time-critical material to regional manufacturers and providing fast-response transportation for news organizations, utilities, and corporate travelers. Brian McMahon’s adoption of early stage technology, such as computers, cellular telephones, and pagers, enabled McMahon to significantly improve communication and response times for his customers. According to McMahon, his business was doubled in a single year as a result of the cellular telephone.
By the early 1990's, McMahon had increased the fleet size to eight helicopters. A major edition to the fleet was McMahon’s first Sikorsky S58T helicopter. This allowed for industry standard-sized containers and pallets to be forklift-loaded onto the aircraft without having to breakdown the dunnage or loose-load.
By 2001, McMahon was operating three Sikorsky S58T’s in the fleet for cargo and several other Bell helicopters for light charter, news, and film production work.
In May of 2023, McMahon Helicopter Services, Inc. (now doing business as McMahon Airborne Logistics) opened its new headquarters in Canton, Michigan, through its partially owned subsidiary, Aerial Assets, LLC.
Today, McMahon Airborne Logistics is more technologically advanced, faster, and farther reaching than ever before. The company handles nearly all aspects of its business in-house, including aircraft maintenance and software development.
McMahon is committed to continuing to build a great company with outstanding service by always putting the customers' interests first and by continuously improving its processes.
